Big Lake Near the BWCA and Ely, MN

Big Lake is a 1,789 acre lake located 18 miles northwest of Ely, MN off the Echo Trail, and in the heart of the Superior National Forest. Big Lake has a public access. Maximum depth is 22 feet. Big Lake boasts of large Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye -- the fishing is good. In a national forest, you're bound to spot one of your wildlife neighbors.
