McDougal Lake

McDougal Lake is a 273 acre lake located 28 miles south of Ely, MN off of famous Hwy 1, and in the heart of the Superior National Forest. North McDougal Lake has a public access at a U.S. Forest Service campground on the east end of the lake. Lake maximum depth is 13 feet. McDougal Lake boasts of Northen Pike, Yellow Perch, Rock Bass, and Walleye. North McDougal Lake is also connected to South McDougal (273 acres in size) and Middle McDougal (103 acres in size) via a navigable creek. Fourth McDougal is not connected to the other McDougal Lakes and is 14 acres in size. In a national forest, you're bound to spot one of your wildlife neighbors. The area is home to moose, deer and much more.
