You cannot see, smell, or taste radon. But it still may be a problem in your home. When you breathe air containing radon, you increase your risk of getting lung cancer. In fact, the Surgeon General of the United States has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today.
In response to this problem, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has published it's Home Buyer's and Seller's Guide to Radon. This guide answers important questions about radon and lung cancer risk. It also answers questions about testing and fixing for anyone buying or selling a home.
The guide is saved as an Adobe Acrobat PDF document so that you can download and view it with all it's formatting intact. All you need is the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't already have it, it's quick to download and will come in handy on a number of other websites you visit as well.
