White Iron Lake is a 3,429 acre lake located approx. 5 miles east of Ely, MN off the Kawishiwi Trail, and in the heart of the Superior National Forest. White Iron Lake is part of a chain of lakes including Garden, Farm and South Farm Lakes. Enjoy direct access to the BWCA from this chain of lakes! There is a public access. Maximum depth is 47 feet. White Iron Lake boasts of Northen Pike, Yellow Perch, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye -- the fishing is good. In a national forest, you're bound to spot one of your wildlife neighbors.
